In the next issue (January 16, 1873) Miguel de Cámara announces that the magazine will publish a series of «biografías de mujeres ilustres» and Galdós contributes a signed article (not reprinted) which is an introduction to the series. In the same year he publishes La conjuración de las palabras (May 16 and June 1), La pluma en el viento (March 1), and chapters from La corte de Carlos IV (July 1 and 16), El 19 de marzo y el dos de mayo (Nov. 1) and Bailén (Dec. 16). The prospectus for 1874 makes special mention of Galdós as a collaborator.
The «biografías de mujeres ilustres» did not appear; but we recall that Ido del Sagrario, when he tries to sell books to Juanito Santa Cruz, offers him Mujeres célebres (Fortunata, I, cap. VIII, sec. III).
